How Can You Get Involved?
1. Pray
2. Go
3. Give
The plans we have for ‘the church.’ cannot be achieved apart from a work of God. Please pray specifically for, our efforts not to be in vain, that racial reconciliation will take place, that the Lord Himself would continue what He started in West Buechel in 1962.
We are also in need of laborers. In addition to the prayer requests above please join us also in praying for leaders, who love Jesus and his gospel and who are committed to serve Him. We are currently looking for people to serve in many different capacities in our newly formed Next Generation Ministry, (i.e. Children’s Ministry, and middle and high schoolers). Pray and ask the Lord if it might be you or someone you know.
Finally, we are a small church trying to make a big difference. We need financial support for our staffing, building, and other ministry needs. Please pray that the Lord continues to provide in this area. Maybe he is calling you to contribute to the work financially as a one time gift, on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or an annual basis.
As an incentive for giving we have put together packages of church logo gear. These provide another way for you to get involved, as you tell others about this unique church transformation initiative, given these t shirts, hats, and hoodies are great conversation starters.
Pray
The task before us will not be successful without the power of God at work in each and every individual involved. We are asking that anyone interested in partnering with us would first pray with us. Pray:
That Jesus would be high and lifted up in the community (John 3:14; 12:27-36).
For the current staff.
For future leaders (Matt. 9:35-38).
For unity in the church (1 Cor. 13:4).
That the church would eventually be able to sustain itself.
For churches to help support our efforts (Ex. 17:12-14).
For the community, and that barriers to our gospel witness would be broken down (Josh. 6:1-27).
About how the Lord might use you specifically at Bashford Manor Baptist Church.
Give
Additional funds to supplement the tithes and offerings of our small but growing congregation will help springboard the transformation. Financial resources will be specifically directed to establishing a disciple-making program, training leaders, doing outreach, and maintaining our facilites, along with other operational costs.
Go
Part of the new vision for the church includes a new bi-vocational pastoral staff that reflects the demographics of the community. This core team will be intentional about cross-cultural discipleship. There are also several areas of need that can be addressed through watchcare memberships and short-term mission trips.
